Jessica came to us with a large number of heirloom family jewelry, including this marquise diamond brooch. She knew this piece wasn’t practical for daily wear, so we discussed turning the stones into something that felt more of her style. Jessica wanted to honor the marquise design in this piece, and felt earrings would be the best style and would get the most wear. We removed all of the stones from the brooch, and turned a few of them into a simple but substantial pair of everyday studs. We used 14k yellow gold to make the stones pop a little bit more, and designed these to be in a cluster style with the round diamonds as the anchor point. We are holding on to the remaining stones for a future project!
We consider heirloom redesigns to be our bread + butter, and we love working with clients to recreate their previously well-loved jewelry into something new and special. By re-working your old pieces, we can maintain the sentimental value that inherently lies in stones + metal, and produce something that will become a favorite piece for years to come.
Some of the projects we can do are:
We work with precious stones like diamond, ruby and sapphire, and handle semi-precious stones on a case by case basis. We do not work with heirloom emeralds, pearls, opals, or tanzanite.
You can learn more about resetting old jewelry here. Our pricing begins at $1,500 – our average project costs $2,000 without additional stones, and $3,000-$5,000 with additional stones added in.
